Subject: ELSA is NOT planning to pull out of the Graphics card business Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2000 16:40:35 +0100 From: pr.international@elsa.com Dear journalists, based on full or partly wrong online news since yesterday the rumor is growing that ELSA would pull out of the Graphics Business. In the following lines youŽll find some facts about our strategy ... *** ELSA is not planning to pull out of the Graphics card business ELSA will not withdraw from the graphics card Business. The announced reorientation guarantees rather that ELSA will continue to provide professional and consumer graphics cards into the future. The strategic declaration/agreement with the chip manufacturer NVIDIA, now confirmed, means that NVIDIA transfers the OEM Business in the workstation market and also makes the board design in the future. ELSA receives for it for these products, world-wide exclusive rights to distribute to all channels outside of the OEM market. These products will be ELSA graphics cards, with our brand name, service, quality assurance and support that you have come to expect from ELSA. In the consumer market, ELSA will however no longer manufacture the board. This is with the purpose of achieving early product availability to the consumer, thereby freeing our product developers to concentrate on the well established Nvidia reference design. For both professionals and consumers, ELSA continues to guarantee high product quality, good delivery, excellent software and service performance that raises ELSA above the competition. The outsourcing of the preliminary stage will bring no disadvantage for the customer whatsoever. Regarding the future, ELSA offers a broad high performance product range and guarantees support in both market sectors. ELSA pulling out of the graphics card market has never been on the table for discussion. *** More Press Releases and a complete photo database youŽll find in the ELSA PressLounge ... http://presslounge.elsa.com/xi The ELSA Presslounge is password protected because it is only intended for journalists.
